Investors in people is probably the best known of all QA Systems in the U.K. It is externally evaluated and is based entirely on organisations people base – staff and/or volunteers. IIP has several basic principles to which an organisation must subscribe, along with standards which then need to be met and evidence collected to prove the standard the organisation has achieved. It’s four principles are commitment, planning, action and evaluation, underscored by 12 key indicators of good practice. It is used mostly by relatively large organisations where the staff are the primary resource of the organisation, but has been successfully applied in both the voluntary and public sectors
