Kids Inclusion Framework
Policy into practice to include disabled children and young people in play and childcare services, produced for local authorities. This framework has been drawn up as a result of Kids’ wide experience working with individuals and local authorities committed to the inclusion of disabled children and young people in mainstream play, childcare and leisure settings. It’s publication is one element of the kids play work inclusion project (PIP) delivered under contract with the DfES Sure Start Unit.
PIP
PIP offers strategic development, information and guidance to authorities and settings on inclusive play and childcare, including:
National Inclusion Forum – disseminates good practice on inclusion
Publications and Briefings - around the issue of inclusive play and childcare
National Inclusive Play Network - KIDS host the National Inclusive Play Network which hosts termly network meetings and seminars.
Strategies for Inclusion – a three-part, seminar programme to engage an authority in developing a strategic, cross-departmental / service approach to inclusion.
Regional Network Seminars – an opportunity for practitioners and managers to develop and share good practice.
Seminars and one-to-one advice – advice and tailor made seminars to enable partners to strategically develop their practice on inclusion.
E-bulletin - Members can receive free regular, bi-monthly e-bulletins on inclusive play, childcare and leisure for disabled children and young people. To subscribe to the e-bulletin, click here.
