Training and workforce development workstream

This work stream will map and collate information on training and development needs and provision, and ensure that infrastructure organisations and their network members have access to and are using the regional collaborative VCS CYP training and development calendar.

Overall Outcome:

By 2012, 100 VCS CYP organisations will work through an action plan, supported by new infrastructure skills and resources, to improve organisational and workforce standards for the benefit of young people. VCS organisations will develop new skills and greater influence on policies as a result.

Delivery Phases

Phase 1         March 2010 - June 2010    

Phase 2         July 2010 - March 2011      

Phase 3         April 2011 - June 2012        

Milestones:

Phase 1

Training and development needs and provision will have been assessed across the 14 LEA areas; a regional and sub-regional action plan will be in place.

Phase 2 

Collaborative and co-ordinated delivery and procurement of training and workforce development activities as part of an overall G:up alliance network ‘training and development calendar'.

Phase 3

A regional approach to monitoring and meeting training and development needs will be fully operational and agreed by all participating VCS CYP infrastructure organisations.
