The new 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work course has been created which covers the most common risks. The syllabus for this course has been specified by the HSE and can only be taught by HSE approved providers of the First aid at work course or Ofqual (QCA) registered providers.

Course InformationThis is the minimum level of First Aid training for the workplace, appropriate for low-risk environments or for those acting in the absence of a fully qualified First Aider. This course is ideal for smaller workplaces, schools that present few health and safety risks.

Who should attend?Nominated emergency first aiders, or indeed anyone wanting a comprehensive one day first aid course. 

What you will learn?Basic life saving first aid and workplace health and safety regulations. The course will focus on the following:• Health and safety (first aid) regulations• Managing an incident• The priorities of first aid• Treatment of an unconscious casualty• Resuscitation for Child & Adult (CPR)• Shock• Choking• Seizures• Bleeding• Common workplace injuries.

Assessment and certificationContinuous assessment will be made throughout the course by the trainer. Candidates will receive an emergency first aid book and HSE recognised course certificate which is valid for 3 years. 

With the Emergency First Aid at Work qualification there is a requirement to be retrained every 3 years.
